Corruption and bribery are very ugly words and any such activity should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. However, it is enough to use another term such as lobby and the same activity is portrayed as correctly as possible, even though it means exactly the same thing.
However, there is a slight difference: if a man with a middle income goes to a government office and donates a few hundred euros to speed up a decision that will allow him to build a barn in his own backyard, this is undoubtedly bribery. In another case, if a representative of a commercial enterprise turns up at an office to get permission to build a supermarket in a national park and supports such an “application” with a certain sum in the millions, then we are dealing with a lobby. Of course I was exaggerating – I just wanted to make the difference clear. But maybe that’s not an exaggeration at all and it’s what really happens in our “just” world?
In the article how much does a senator cost, you can find out what amount of dollars is enough to buy the vote of a US senator. In this article I also made a suggestion on how to effectively influence the decisions of the US Senate to support Polish national interests. This is not so unrealistic – AIPAC does this on a much larger scale.
Hearings were held in the US Senate for the nominee for US Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Those interested can watch a video of the first day of hearings in Polish.
The hostility toward Robert Kennedy Jr that surfaced at his hearing was directly proportional to the amount of pharma money each senator received. In fact, each of them simply repeated the same attacks we just saw in the mainstream media (all of which were brazen lies). Quote from article: How Big Pharma funds politicians. Source.
I chose this article for its language because you can learn from it how many dollars individual senators received to be so “angry” at Kennedy. There was no corruption here – not at all! – It was legitimate lobbying. At this point, I would like to paraphrase Karl Marx’s famous saying: A dollar determines consciousness….
An interesting vote is coming up in the US Senate on the appointment of the new Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). We’ll find out who is involved in corrupting – sorry: Lobbying – of respected senators more effectively.
