I watched the conversation between Alice Weidel, the leader of the German AfD party, and Elon Musk on X with great interest yesterday.
Had there not been such protests from the guardians of the previous pseudo-democracy, the conversation between the two would not have become as popular as it eventually was. Elon Musk has created a media balance between the AfD and other parties in Germany. Out of more than 500 talk shows (discussions) on German television, the AfD – Germany’s second strongest party after the CDU – was only invited to a handful of such debates, in which the moderators tried to make factual arguments impossible by confronting party participants with absurd accusations in order to put them on the defensive.
What did the two of them discuss for over an hour? Alice Weidel began by addressing the topic of energy policy in Germany. Both had an almost identical position here, as they did on illegal migration. The AfD leader outlined the situation in Germany, but did not put herself and her party in the role of the attacked victim, although she would have been perfectly entitled to do so. A designated Federal Chancellor should not moan, but rather make suggestions for a way out of a difficult situation, and that is what she did.
The European Union was aware of the importance of this meeting and sent 150 spies to search for so-called disinformation, hate speech and any reason to accuse the interlocutors of anything harmful. The entire conversation was conducted in a friendly tone and both laughed more than once at the inept efforts of incompetent politicians and media to prevent the conversation from being published.
If you want to hit someone, you can always find a stick. Alice Weidel said that Hitler was a left-wing politician and considered himself a leftist. The NSDAP was a workers’ party and a national socialist party at that. At least in name. The first step after Hitler came to power was the introduction of censorship and the only permitted narrative, which is exactly what the ideological unity parties such as the CDU, SPD, FDP, BSW and Greens in Germany currently favor.
Elon Musk has said that if we go by the “eye for an eye” method, everyone will soon be blind. Many of you will probably be outraged by this. Of course there should be penalties for crime. It reminds me of the words – I can’t remember who said them – an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth – it’s not the wisdom of the cruel and brutal, it’s the cunning of the eyeless and toothless.
I would like to take this opportunity to point out Trump’s threat to take over Greenland. Well, he won’t succeed that easily: They won’t even give up a button!
