We are only halfway through the calendar summer and need to say goodbye to the heat. How come? Then how to advance the thermal catastrophe around the world? When logic contradicts the propagated views on global warming, it’s all the worse for logic. There are still emotions, mostly fear, and no logic can handle it.
The weather forecast for August is not very hot this year.
It’s nothing out of the ordinary. I still remember the summer of 1968, when I wore rubber boots all the time in the scout camp in Korbielów, southern Poland, because it was raining. Something completely different is extraordinary today. Excessive focus of media attention on the issue of weather and so-called climate change.
Awareness follows concentration. If someone is planning to buy a car in the near future and already knows details like the brand of the dream vehicle, then suddenly he sees cars of this brand on the streets. Of course, no miracle happened. Before there were just as many cars – but he didn’t see them because he didn’t care. Likewise, a couple expecting a child is surprised at how many pregnant women they meet or how many parents push their babies in strollers.
If there isn’t a day on television today, not even on the hourly news, that doesn’t feature environmental disasters, fires, floods or hurricanes, it’s no wonder we get the impression that nothing like this has ever happened before. And it’s true: fear of the effects of “man-made” changes in the ecosystem has never been so great. So I’m not going to clear up myths now. I would rather draw your attention to the techniques used to manipulate the ecological bogeyman. In the article 25 Climate Facts, I featured a website that conducted an analysis of ecological facts based on the research of unbiased scientists.
For many years, at the beginning of summer, I brought a portable air conditioner from the basement into my room where I write these “subversive” articles – one with a pipe sticking out of a tilted window. It works well and can lower the temperature in the room by almost 10 degrees. A few years ago there were such years when the heat outside reached almost 40°C and the temperature in my room was below 30°C. This device sucked an average of 5 liters of water out of the air every day. This year I left the air conditioning in the basement out of laziness. That is my subjective feeling of these catastrophic heatwaves.
