It’s been over a month since Brazil’s bizarre presidential election. Why “bizarre”? Sentenced to 26 years in prison for corruption and money laundering since 2018, Lula da Silva was acquitted on “procedural grounds” in March. The court’s jurisdiction was challenged, allowing the former president to vote in this year’s elections.

The largest protests in Brazil to date have been going on for more than a month. Here is an example of millions protesting against election fraud in Sao Paulo. Crowds are demanding that the military take the lead and organize an investigation into vote-rigging.
