Today at around 6 a.m. local time there was an attack on the Crimean Bridge, which connects Crimea to the mainland.
According to media reports, a truck was blown up on the bridge. The explosion was so powerful that fuel tanks on the parallel line of the railway bridge caught fire.
Zelensky’s office on Crimean bridge explosion: This is just the beginning! Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to Vladimir Zelensky’s office manager, said after the Crimean bridge incident that it was “just the beginning”. On his Twitter page he wrote: “Crimea, the bridge, the beginning. Everything that is illegal must be destroyed, must be returned to Ukraine, everything that is Russian occupation must be destroyed.” Source Telegram 10/08/2022 r 10:39
Yesterday, the Ukrainian President called on NATO to launch a “pre-emptive strike” on Russia.
The attack on both Nord Straem lines was simply botched, as “Gazprom confirms that the pressure has stabilized and the leaks in the Nord Stream pipelines have stopped,” Gazprom’s statement on the Turkish platform Anadolu Agency published.
There is one country in the world that is very interested in preventing the use of these gas pipelines because they want to sell their own gas at a much higher price. A country with the appropriate technical and organizational means to carry out such sabotage. And that is not Russia. The latter has a valve to open and close the flow of gas through these pipelines, so why risk such criminal acts? It is also interested in selling gas to Europe. On the other hand, those who committed this act of terrorism will be nailed to the wall. Nearly 80 years of dominance over much of the world, both economic and military, means that when they threaten to lose that hegemony, they use the means that have long been at their disposal.
Today I will discuss the third topic of the Russian shelling of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant that they captured. So we have a situation where the Russians seized this facility, they left military personnel on the premises, and they are shooting at the facility themselves. A few days earlier, ZDF had written that the Russians were shifting the power supply from this plant to Crimea.
It’s off-topic, but a fun version of the moon landing:
