An unpleasant sound woke me up. Yes, that’s the voice of the alarm clock I bought so I wouldn’t be late for work. A useful but very annoying device. A cup of strong coffee and everything will be back to normal.
What happened yesterday? I’m starting to remember. The neighbor was arrested by the police. He reportedly wrote on Facebook that “armed looters are roaming our city and people are afraid to go out on the streets.”
Serves him right! Why did he lean out? Yes, I saw these hyenas robbing the houses of flood victims. I didn’t see any weapons among them, but I didn’t go near them either. But to publish such things immediately, in a situation where everyone should be helping the government fight this tragedy?
I don’t understand people like that. Why do they need to fester at such a difficult time? When I hear the opposition attacking the government on TV, I wonder who wants to make the already dramatic flood disaster even worse. Thousands of people are fighting in solidarity against the consequences of the flood, and these bastards have chosen the right moment for a polemic. Who is paying them to do this? But no reasonable person would do that.
I am an office worker and I just go to the office to fight for a better future in my office. I review applications for compensation for the people affected by the floods. The minister’s recommendations on compensation are not yet available, so I console the petitioners and tell them between the lines that they could have bought flood insurance. You have saved money on premiums and should now take responsibility for your own decisions.
The issue of compensation will probably end as usual – the minister will promise to cover, say, 10% of the losses. You will have to wait several months, maybe even years, for the money. Few people received compensation for previous floods. That’s how it works, and I play an important role in this process. Although I have no influence on the decision, the petitioners do not know this, so I am an oracle for them. It’s a pity that I only deal with completely broke people. Otherwise there would be a chance to improve my own financial situation.
When I was walking home from work, I met this neighbor. So they released him after 24 hours. He tried to get me to read his Facebook posts. That was all I needed to engage with subversive texts! I prefer safe and solid news on TV. At least here I know what to say to people to avoid being treated like my neighbor.
