50 years ago, during the presidency of Republican Richard Nixon, the biggest political scandal of the time, Watergate, took place in the USA. The high point was August 9, 1974, when the US President resigned as head of state. What was Nixon’s fault? Among other things, with his knowledge and consent, many politicians from the Democratic Party were intercepted.
On February 11, 2022, indictments were filed in US court that, if convicted, would dwarf Watergate’s political reach. Indicted are two attorneys for Hillary Clinton — the 2016 Democratic nominee for President of the United States. Virginia’s US LaRouchePAC published an article on the subject on Friday: Durham’s Revelations: Destruction of the National Security State—or Just Hillary Clinton?.
I am writing about this because the mainstream media outlets are either completely silent or giving false, one-sided information while trying to downplay allegations of corruption, wiretapping and a failed coup attempt in the US. Half a century ago, the Watergate scandal was hailed as a triumph of freedom of expression because it was largely thanks to the hard work of journalists that it was possible to publicize the dishonest actions of the authorities at the time. Today it is journalists who guard the secrets of one of the parties to the conflict, spreading untruths and discrediting the more curious.
